Between April and November 2017, on-site surveys were undertaken by ACHCO staff of the structure and key decorative elements at Masjid Jame, the principal congregational mosque in Herat. With financial support from the US Embassy, documentation of the mosque complex was subsequently prepared, with more than 40 drawings (plans, sections, elevations and details of decoration dating to the 15th century AD) then distributed to counterpart institutions.
